Hey there! So, remember when the Dehunagar Panchayat promised to install sewage treatment plants to tackle pollution issues? Well, turns out the National Green Tribunal (NGT) isn’t too impressed with the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board’s (MPCB) response to the situation.
The NGT has asked the MPCB to provide more information in a fresh affidavit, including details on the estimated Environmental Damage Cost (EDC) and how long it will be imposed for. Talk about getting down to the nitty-gritty!
The MPCB now has four weeks to come up with a solid response, as the next hearing is set for January 27th. And that’s not all – the NGT has also suggested that the MPCB should consider taking legal action against the Dehunagar Panchayat for not doing enough to stop pollution in the Indrayani River.
Looks like things are heating up in the world of environmental protection. Stay tuned for more updates on this important issue!
