Hey Pune folks, some interesting news coming your way! Pune Police have managed to nab a thief who had been breaking into parked cars and stealing items. This guy had two partners in crime, but they managed to escape the long arm of the law. The arrest went down in Bengaluru, and turns out the thief is from Tamil Nadu. His name is Suresh Kumar Pandurangan Serwai, and he’s been linked to a whopping 11 cases of theft.
The cops were able to recover two laptops and other items totaling Rs 1.50 lakh from him. The Detection Branch (DB) of Swargate Police Station really came through on this one. The thief was caught red-handed in Bengaluru, with stolen goods in tow.
It’s not the first time Serwai has been in trouble with the law. He’s got a rap sheet that includes theft cases in Dharavi and Kurla Railway Police Station. His accomplice, Senthil Kumar Mahalingan, also has a theft case on his record from Kurla Railway Police Station.
The police team behind this successful operation was led by Additional Commissioner of Police (West) Praveen Kumar Patil, along with Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Smartana Patil and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Swargate Division) Rahul Aware. Senior Police Inspector Yuvraj Nandre and his team of officers really deserve a round of applause for cracking this case wide open.
So, folks, rest easy knowing that the Pune Police are out there doing their best to keep the streets safe. And to all the thieves out there, take this as a warning – you might just end up like Serwai if you’re not careful! Stay safe, Pune!
