10 am marked the start of the festivities as the crowd gathered to worship Goddess Maa Samaleshwari. New grains from Odisha were offered, and the ladies sang bhajans to kick off the event. Warm greetings were exchanged, and guests were welcomed with honor.

The festival was filled with traditional dances, songs, and music performances by both children and adults. The lively beats of pancha badya instruments like Dhol, Nishan, Tasa, Muhuri, and flute by Runu Jhunu Kalaparishad, Balangir, created a vibrant atmosphere. Prachi Panigrahi wowed the audience with special folk dance performances, and soon everyone was dancing to the rhythms of Sambalpuri music.

Breakfast consisted of delicious biri bara, ghuguni, and tea, while lunch featured authentic Odia dishes like kheeri, puri, rasgola, kardi letha, rice, kankodo bhaja, rice, dal, and potal kasa that tantalized the taste buds of the attendees.

Pune has become the second city after New Delhi to celebrate Nuankhai outside Odisha, with the festival being celebrated since 2007. The event organizers, including Nibedita, Bandita, Narendra, Umakanta, Benudhar, Swadhin, Naren, Pratyush, Krishna, Shibashis, Rabi, Dilip, and Saroj, ensured that the event ran smoothly.

The audience praised the success of the event, which brought them together in a spirit of love, friendship, and brotherhood. They expressed their eagerness to celebrate more festivals of Odisha in the future.
