Hey there, folks! The Election Commission of India is gearing up for the big day – the counting process for the recent elections. In a recent meeting with election officials from all states and districts, they discussed the preparedness for the counting process. To ensure transparency, they have decided that five Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) from each of the 24 assembly segments will undergo Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) tallying. And guess what? They even did a draw of lots to select which ones will go through this process.

The counting is set to start bright and early at 8 am, with the counting of postal ballots. A senior official mentioned that each round should ideally be completed in 30 minutes, assuming there are no hiccups along the way.

Deputy election officer Minal Kalaskar shared some details on the deployment of polling staff. For the Maval constituency, they’ve got 227 polling staff, and for Raigad, they’ve got 250. That’s a total of 906 personnel at the FCI godown for the Pune and Baramati counting centers, and 493 at the Shirur counting center.

Speaking of Shirur, they’ve got a whopping 2,566 polling stations and will be having 27 rounds of counting. Maval follows closely with 25 rounds, Baramati with 22 rounds, and Pune City with 21 rounds. They’ve even allocated specific tables for the EVM machines and postal ballot boxes to make sure everything runs smoothly.

So, there you have it – the Election Commission is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a fair and efficient counting process. Stay tuned for more updates as the day unfolds!
