Hey there, Pune peeps! Have you heard about the latest news regarding Class 11 admissions in the city? Well, buckle up because we’ve got some interesting updates for you!

This year, the number of vacant seats in the online admission process for Class 11 in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal areas has shot up significantly. Can you believe it? More than 42,000 seats are still waiting to be filled! The Education Department recently wrapped up the Class 11 admission process, offering a total of 1,20,805 seats across 343 junior colleges.

Out of these, 1,04,160 seats were up for grabs for centralized admissions, while 16,645 seats were reserved for quota admissions. With three regular rounds and six special rounds of admissions, a total of 78,618 students managed to secure admission. However, there are still 42,187 seats left vacant, including 34,942 from centralized admissions and 7,245 from the reserved quota.

Now, let’s talk streams – 7,390 students opted for Arts, 29,819 for Commerce, 39,643 for Science, and 1,766 students enrolled in Business courses. It’s interesting to see the distribution, isn’t it?

The admission rate for Class 11 has been on a downward trend in recent years, with over 30,000 seats remaining vacant annually. The increase in college recognition and the expansion of batches have led to a surplus of available seats, contributing to the rising vacancy rate each year.

So, what do you think about this situation? Are you surprised by the number of vacant seats, or did you see this coming? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
