The PMC is promoting an eco-friendly Ganesh festival and has launched an initiative to encourage idol donations. Bags of organic fertilizer will be distributed to approximately 15,000 devotees following a symbolic idol immersion.

Each year, around 450,000 idols are immersed in various areas of Pune during the Ganesh festival, making it a significant event for the city.
