In a recent survey conducted by PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, findings have indicated a clear roadmap to address the needs of the youth in the community. With a focus on skilling, career counseling, and creating opportunities that align with the demands of the job market, the survey aims to shape future initiatives.

The insights from the survey are already being translated into actionable outcomes. Skill development programs tailored in IT, healthcare, and manufacturing are being designed to align with industry needs. Community engagement efforts are being enhanced to ensure all youth have access to these programs. Additionally, focused career counseling will be provided to help youth make informed decisions about their future.

By aligning its initiatives with the survey findings, the corporation aims to create a sustainable ecosystem that promotes growth and opportunities for all members of the community.

Key highlights from the survey include reaching 31,400 households across 44 communities and identifying 18,000 youth aged 18 to 35. Educational background data shows that 24% of youth have not completed 10th grade, while 34% have completed 12th grade. Only 2% hold postgraduate or diploma qualifications.

Furthermore, the survey revealed that 21% of youth have completed vocational training and 16% are aware of five or more job roles available in the market.

With the next steps in mind, the corporation is focusing on skill development courses in IT, healthcare, and manufacturing, personalized career guidance for youth, and enhanced outreach campaigns for community-level engagement. The survey’s findings are set to shape the future initiatives of the corporation, with a strong emphasis on meeting the needs of the youth in the community.
