Hey there, folks! Big news coming from Maharashtra today. Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, had some exciting updates about the new Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC) Headquarters. At a public event in Pune, he boldly stated that the PCPC building will surpass Pune in terms of modernity. And guess who he said this to? None other than Pune City Commissioner of Police, Amitesh Kumar, right there on stage!
The PCPC project was initially approved back in 2018 by Devendra Fadnavis himself, along with the Mira Bhayandar Police Commissionerate. The PCPC started off in a school building in Chinchwad, with its headquarters in Nigdi. But now, the Maharashtra State Government has given the green light for a swanky new headquarters for the PCPC on 50 acres of prime land in Tathawade.
Fadnavis didn’t stop there. He also mentioned that the new PCPC building might just be the best police facility in all of India. Talk about setting the bar high! The Bhumi Pujan for the new building is scheduled to happen soon, so keep an eye out for that.
But that’s not all – Fadnavis also highlighted some major changes in policing, including a revision of the police-to-population ratio for the first time since 1960. Looks like Maharashtra is really stepping up its game when it comes to modernizing policing and technology.
Exciting times ahead for the PCPC and the people of Maharashtra. Stay tuned for more updates on this groundbreaking project!
