Residents in Dwarka Suncrest Phase 2 and 3 are facing a water crisis as the supply from tankers is inadequate. The amount of water per flat is reportedly lower than what is allocated on paper, leaving residents frustrated and questioning if there is a solution to the problem.
Siddhivinayak Ginger society resident Virendra Chavan highlighted that this issue has been ongoing for 18 years, with no significant efforts made to address it. Despite promises from politicians during elections, residents are still struggling to access enough water for their daily needs.
As the situation worsens, residents are urging PCMC authorities to take immediate action to ensure a consistent and sufficient water supply. Some are considering filing formal complaints or making collective appeals to push for a long-term solution to the crisis.
With no clear resolution in sight, affected societies are forced to rely on expensive private tankers to meet their water requirements. A resident of Roseland Residency expressed concern about the financial strain this erratic water supply is causing on housing societies, especially with summer approaching.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, PCMC water department official D D Patil explained that the recent disruption in water supply was due to maintenance and repair work in Bhosari and Sector 23 areas. While efforts are being made to recover the backlog, residents in Pimple Saudagar are still experiencing water shortages. Patil assured that the water supply should return to normal within the next 2 to 3 days.
