- Early Preparation: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is gearing up for the Swachh Survekshan 2025 assessment by the central government, set to take place in February. This annual survey evaluates cleanliness in various areas such as slums, markets, public toilets, and roads, giving cities cleanliness rankings based on their performance.
- Regional Oversight: Assistant Commissioner Ajinkya Yele has announced that each of the eight regional offices will appoint ten officials to monitor the cleanliness of specific sites in their respective areas. This move is aimed at ensuring sustained hygiene and cleanliness in key locations across the city.
- Public Toilet Shortage: To address the shortage of public toilets on main and internal roads, the PCMC plans to approach petrol pump owners. The corporation will request petrol pump owners to provide functional and easily accessible toilets for public use. Inspections will be conducted after a month to check for compliance, and legal notices will be issued to non-compliant petrol pumps.
- Cleaner, Healthier City: The goal of these initiatives is to promote a cleaner and healthier environment in Pimpri Chinchwad and tackle long-standing sanitation issues in the city. By taking proactive measures and involving various stakeholders, the PCMC aims to improve the overall cleanliness and hygiene standards in the city.
