1. An 80-year-old woman, Laxmi Akaram Wankhede, who had been missing for over a year was reunited with her family in Pune District thanks to the efforts of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC).
  2. Laxmi had gone missing during a pilgrimage to the Shree Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Samadhi Mandir in Alandi, Khed Taluka, while visiting Pune with her family.
  3. Despite extensive searches in Alandi, Pune, and Shegaon, her hometown in Buldhana District, her family was unable to locate her due to lack of photos to aid the search.
  4. After months of unsuccessful attempts, the woman was found during a routine vehicle check in the Talawade IT Park Chowk area by officers from the Talawade Traffic Division under PCPC’s Traffic Branch.
  5. The driver of the vehicle recognized Laxmi as the missing person and contacted her son, leading to her emotional reunion with her family.
  6. Locals from the Traffic Branch, Talawade IT Park, and Chakan MIDC area had been caring for Laxmi during the 1.5 years she was missing, providing clothes and medicine as needed.
  7. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Bapu Bangar, Assistant Police Inspector Madhukar Thorat, and Police Constable Raju Bhosale played key roles in safely reuniting Laxmi with her family.
  8. The emotional reunion was met with overwhelming joy as the family expressed gratitude towards the police and the local community for their compassion and assistance.
