1. Sanjeev Shah, chairman of the PCMC-CETP Foundation, highlighted the urgent need for a suitable facility to treat industrial effluent in Pimpri Chinchwad. He emphasized that the lack of such a facility not only inconveniences industrial units but also poses a significant threat to the environment.
  2. A senior PCMC official disclosed that the groundbreaking ceremony for the CETP project was initially meant for constructing the compound wall and other infrastructure. However, due to insufficient land, the MIDC is now preparing a new Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the project. Industries minister Uday Samant has instructed officials to conduct a survey to assess industrial pollution in the Pawana and Indrayani rivers.
  3. Industrial members expressed frustration over the delay in the CETP project, arguing that the groundbreaking ceremony was for the entire project, not just the compound wall. They opposed a proposal by a UK-based company to set up the plant on the allocated land using advanced technology. Sandeep Belsare, president of the Pimpri Chinchwad Small Scale Industries Association, urged authorities to allocate additional land to address the issue.

Stay tuned for more updates on the development of the CETP project in Pimpri Chinchwad!
