Hey there, Punekars! Get ready for a cleaner and greener Ganeshotsav this year as the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has some exciting plans in place.

First up, PMC has ordered a three-shift cleaning schedule for the city during the festive season. No more garbage lying around in the open – it’s time to dispose of it immediately and keep Pune spick and span.

But wait, there’s more! PMC is rewarding 15,000 citizens who donate their Ganesha idols to the PMC with a bag of organic fertilizer each. How cool is that?

Prithviraj BP and Sandeep Kadam recently held a meeting with ward office officials, sanitation workers, and health inspectors to discuss the cleaning plans. The focus is on keeping the city clean and tidy, especially during Ganeshotsav when things tend to get messy.

Speaking of mess, the recent floods have brought silt and garbage onto the river ghats. To tackle this, citizens are encouraged to immerse their Ganesha idols in manmade pots near the ghats instead of the river.

And guess what? The wet leftovers from the immersion process will be used to make fertilizer at Pashan Lake. How’s that for recycling?

To make things even better, 400 mobile toilets will be set up in various areas during Ganeshotsav. Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Kadam has ensured that these toilets will be placed only on major roads for regular cleaning.

So, let’s all do our part in keeping Pune clean and green this Ganeshotsav. And if you’re one of the lucky 15,000 citizens donating your idol, get ready for your bag of organic fertilizer! Let’s make this festive season a truly eco-friendly one.
