The PMC means business when it comes to cracking down on unauthorized constructions in Pune. This time, their focus was on rooftop establishments in Kothrud. Several popular spots like Nakshatra Resto Bar, Spice Garden, Tasty Bestie, and Coriander Leaf were not spared in the recent operation.
The initiative to dismantle illegal structures comes after a recent accident in Kalyaninagar raised concerns about the safety of such constructions. The PMC’s Building Permission Department is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that unauthorized rooftop structures are taken down.
Under the watchful eyes of Superintending Engineer Rajesh Bankar and Executive Engineer Bipin Shinde, a team of dedicated officials led the demolition drive. Deputy Engineer Shrikant Gaikwad and Junior Engineers Manoj Kumar Mate, Sagar Shinde, Rahul Rasale, Sameer Gadai, along with Assistant Ganesh Thombre, were instrumental in clearing approximately 1,500 square feet of illegal constructions in Kothrud.
