Hey Pune peeps, looks like there’s some road-building drama in the 32 villages that got merged with the PMC recently. The plan for these roads hasn’t been finalized yet, so they’ll be marked under the Regional Plan instead. It’s gonna cost a whopping Rs 41 lakh, but hey, progress comes at a price, right?
The State Government merged 11 villages back in 2017 and 23 more in 2021, adding up to a total of 32 villages under the PMC’s jurisdiction. But hold up, Uruli Devachi and Fursungi have been excluded from this road-building plan because they’re getting their own independent civic body. Looks like they’re going solo, folks!
Since the Development Plan for Uruli Devachi and Fursungi hasn’t been sorted out yet, the PMC is just patching up existing roads and filling potholes. They don’t have all the deets about new roads, existing roads, or widening plans under the RP, so no new roads can be built just yet. Gotta stick to the oldies for now.
But hey, at least once these roads are marked, villagers will finally know what’s what. It’ll help them spot any sneaky encroachments and navigate the area better for land deals or plot divisions. Who knew marking roads could be so important, right?
So, let’s sit back and watch as the PMC figures out the road situation in these merged villages. Who knows, maybe we’ll all be cruising down shiny new roads sooner than we think!
