Are you a property owner in Pune? Better check your tax dues before the PMC comes knocking on your door! The Pune Municipal Corporation has announced the auction of 42 properties worth a whopping ₹11.11 crores due to unpaid property tax arrears.

If you think you can dodge the taxman, think again. With property tax arrears soaring over ₹10,000 crores, the PMC is cracking down on defaulters. They’ve been seizing properties left and right, with an average of 1,800 to 2,000 confiscations happening every year. And guess what? Most of these properties are commercial establishments.

But wait, there’s more! Despite sending out multiple warnings, many property owners seem to be turning a blind eye to their dues. That’s why the PMC is taking things up a notch by auctioning off seized properties without any pending court disputes. Last year, they managed to sell off only two out of 56 properties, raking in around ₹4 crores.

Now, with 42 more properties up for grabs, the PMC is hoping to collect some much-needed cash to fill their coffers. So, if you’ve been slacking on your tax payments, it might be time to cough up the dough before you lose your property in the next auction.
