Hey there, Pune residents! Looks like there’s some important news coming your way regarding the merged villages of Fursungi and Uruli Devachi. Additional Municipal Commissioner Prithviraj BP has sought guidance from the State Government on approved tenders for these villages, which were dropped from the merged list.

A recent meeting of government-appointed members from the 34 merged villages at the Pune Municipal Corporation brought to light some major civic issues faced by these villages. Solid waste management, drainage, water supply, and street lights were among the main concerns raised by the members. In particular, the inadequate water supply to these villages was a pressing issue that was unanimously acknowledged.

To address these issues, a meeting will be held at nearby ward offices to discuss problems that can be solved at the local level. Additionally, a joint meeting is scheduled for January 26 to make policy decisions and discuss projects that will be included in the next year’s Civic Budget.

Water supply seems to be a major challenge for these villages, with a requirement of 323 MLD water, whereas only up to 100 MLD water is currently being supplied through existing schemes and water tankers. The State Water Resources Department has been approached for an increased water quota, and efforts are being made to follow up with the State Government on this matter.

Prithviraj BP also mentioned that 53% of drainages have been laid in nine out of the initial 11 merged villages, with funds being sought under the Amrut Yojana from the State for the remaining 23 villages.

So, stay tuned for updates on how these issues will be addressed and keep an eye out for improvements in the merged villages of Fursungi and Uruli Devachi!
