As the deadline for property tax payments in Pune approaches, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is urging taxpayers to take advantage of the property tax rebate. The PMC is encouraging property owners to make timely payments and benefit from the financial relief offered through the rebate scheme.

Under the rebate scheme, citizens who pay their property tax within the first two months of the financial year are eligible for a rebate. Those paying property tax below ₹25,000 will receive a 10 per cent rebate, while those paying tax above ₹25,000 will get a 5 per cent rebate. This initiative aims to incentivize early payments and help the PMC manage its finances more effectively.

So far, the response to the rebate scheme has been significant, with approximately 3.95 lakh taxpayers availing themselves of the rebate and contributing ₹632.91 crore in property tax payments as of May 21. This positive reception indicates that taxpayers are benefiting from the discounts offered by the PMC.

Paying property tax early not only provides financial benefits to taxpayers through rebates but also supports the PMC in planning and executing development projects efficiently. The funds collected from property tax payments are essential for maintaining and improving city infrastructure, public services, and community programs.

With the May 31 deadline looming, the PMC is making a final call to property owners to pay their taxes promptly and take advantage of the rebate scheme. Taxpayers can pay their property taxes through various modes, including online payments via the PMC’s official website, designated banks, or municipal offices. The PMC has streamlined the payment process to ensure a convenient experience for citizens.
