The recent floods in Pune have prompted the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) to launch a massive cleanup operation to help those affected. The heavy rains on July 25 caused severe flooding in various low-lying areas of the city, including Sainath Nagar, Vadgaon Sheri, Shantinagar, and many more.

Under the leadership of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale, rescue operations were the top priority. Eight boats from PMC were used for rescues, along with three National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams and an army column. Temporary shelters were set up at 26 locations for displaced residents, with food, snacks, and medical assistance provided.

The PMC also distributed blankets, sheets, bed sheets, and plastic buckets to the flood victims to ensure their basic needs were met during this difficult time. The corporation is also working to prevent disease outbreaks in the aftermath of the flooding.

Overall, the PMC’s efforts are focused on cleaning up the city, providing relief to flood victims, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents affected by the recent floods in Pune.
