1. The Tax Assessment and Collection Department of Pune Municipal Corporation is on a mission to recover pending dues to meet revenue targets for the fiscal year 2024-25.
  2. Specialized recovery teams, including a "Band Squad," have been deployed since 2nd December 2024 to collect outstanding property taxes.
  3. Over the course of 18 days, from 2nd December to 19th December 2024, these teams visited 317 properties and successfully collected a whopping ₹40,68,54,299.
  4. In addition to the successful collections, 75 properties were sealed due to non-payment of dues.
  5. Madhav Jagtap, Deputy Commissioner of the Tax Assessment and Collection Department at PMC, stated that out of 14.8 lakh properties, only 8,84,622 property owners have paid their dues amounting to ₹1841.77 crore.
  6. Defaulters are urged to pay their outstanding dues promptly as strict actions will be taken against those who fail to comply.
  7. The PMC is leaving no stone unturned in its efforts to recover pending dues and meet revenue targets for the year 2024-25.
  8. Property owners are advised to clear their dues to avoid any legal repercussions.
