Pune is facing a crisis with the recent deluge in the district, causing flooding in Ekta Nagar and surrounding areas. In response, the PMRDA Disaster Management Department has deployed three teams equipped with advanced tools to handle the situation.

The PMRDA’s Fire Brigade has been busy with rescue operations, assisting in areas like Sus and Bavdhan where housing societies were affected. The heavy rainfall also led to a tree collapse in Kirkatwadi, causing traffic disruptions that were quickly resolved by the fire brigade.

The Khadakwasla Dam has been releasing water continuously, leading to the closure of the bridge connecting Nanded and Shivane. Meanwhile, the PMRDA’s Fire Brigade successfully rescued seven people from a residential building in Shanti Nagar.

PMRDA Commissioner Yogesh Mhase has urged citizens to stay cautious and avoid going out for picnics during this time. He emphasized the importance of following instructions from the District Administration and taking necessary precautions to stay safe from the heavy rains and floods.

The situation is being closely monitored by PMRDA’s Chief Fire Officer Devendra Potphode and other officials, ensuring that prompt action is taken to address the emergency. Stay tuned for more updates on the ongoing rescue operations in Pune.
