Hey there, folks! Have you noticed less traffic congestion in certain areas of Pune recently? Well, that’s because of the three-phase demolition drive that has been making waves in the city. Let’s break it down for you:
1. First Phase (Jan 29 – Feb 13, 2025): A whopping 822 illegal structures were taken down along Nagar-Wagholi Road, giving back 82,200 sq. ft. of land to the city.
2. Second Phase (March 3 – March 13): The action continued with 2,478 illegal constructions being demolished on Pune-Nashik Road, Pune-Solapur Road, and Chandni Chowk-Paud Road, freeing up a massive 247,800 sq. ft. of space.
3. Third Phase (March 17 – March 30): The final phase saw 210 unauthorized buildings being cleared along Hadapsar-Dive Ghat and Pune-Satara Road, reclaiming 34,500 sq. ft. of encroached land.
Overall, a total of 3,47,300 sq. ft. of land has been cleared in the past two months, making a significant impact on traffic congestion in key areas of the city. Kudos to the authorities for taking action and reclaiming the city’s spaces!
