Hey there, folks! Big news coming out of Hinjawadi today. The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) is cracking down on illegal pubs, hotels, bars, and rooftop restaurants in the area. In a joint effort with the Pimpri Chinchwad police, the PMRDA’s anti-encroachment department took down 10 illegal establishments in Hinjawadi in just one day.

This action comes after a survey launched by the PMRDA following a Porsche Taycan crash on May 19. The goal is to root out unauthorized businesses and take necessary action. According to Anil Daunde, the joint commissioner in charge of the anti-encroachment department, these establishments were operating without the proper construction approvals.

Surprisingly, two rooftop restaurants were given permission to install solar units on their terraces but were found to be running eateries instead. Sneaky, right? These places were located in the Hinjawadi gram panchayat limits under the PMRDA’s jurisdiction, and a total area of 97,815 square feet was cleared during the operation.

But wait, there’s more! PMRDA officials are also keeping a close eye on establishments around Maan village and have already issued notices to owners of illegal structures. The survey teams are working hand in hand with the building permission department to ensure that properties were not built without the necessary approvals before taking action.

And the crackdown doesn’t stop there. PMRDA officials are now focusing on areas like Bhugaon and Bhukum, where many bars and restaurants are located. It’s all part of the ongoing effort to make sure that businesses within the PMRDA’s limits are operating legally and safely.

So, if you’re thinking of setting up shop in Hinjawadi, make sure you’ve got all your paperwork in order. The PMRDA means business!
