In a crackdown on unauthorised pubs and bars in Mulshi taluka, the PMRDA demolished illegal establishments in the Pirangut area. Saiba Bar, Atharva Resto Bar, Sonali Resto Bar, Gypsy Resto Bar were among the ones targeted, along with other restaurants and bars. A total of 21,124 sq ft of illegal construction was demolished on Thursday.
The drive continued the next day in Bhugaon and Bhukum area, with six unauthorised establishments like Drunk in Lake, Sandalwood, Boneyard Bistro, Rajhans Resto Bar, Tee To Bar, Taps and Talks bar facing the action. With the help of earth-moving machinery and manpower, structures on 28,555 sq ft area were demolished on Friday.
PMRDA Commissioner Yogesh Mhase and Assistant Commissioner Deepak Singla led the operation, with officials like Deputy Collector Anil Daund and Tehsildar Manisha Telbhate also present. The Anti-Encroachment Department urged citizens to refrain from any unauthorised construction in the future.
