PMRDA is cracking down on unauthorized constructions in its jurisdiction, with Deputy Collector Dr. Deepti Suryavanshi-Patil warning property owners to seek proper permissions before starting any construction work. Failure to do so could result in legal action, as seen in the recent case against Shrikant Navale and Deepali Bhadale in Hinjewadi and Manjari.
Under Section 54 of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, those found guilty of unauthorized construction could face a penalty of up to three years of imprisonment or a fine of Rs 5,000, or both. This marks the first time such a case has been filed under this section, signaling PMRDA’s commitment to eradicating unauthorized constructions.
The legal action was taken under the guidance of PMRDA Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase, Superintendent of Police Amol Tambe, and Vigilance Officer Amol Tambe, with Tehsildar Sachin Maske, Ravindra Ranjane, Junior Engineer Ganesh Jadhav, and Vishnudas Awad executing the operation. Property owners are urged to comply with the law and obtain necessary permissions to avoid facing similar consequences.
