Hey Pune peeps, exciting news for all of you! Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has given the green light for the establishment of 10 brand new fire stations within the PMRDA limits. This decision comes after a long-standing demand from the locals to have easier access to fire services in case of emergencies.
With 814 villages under the PMRDA jurisdiction and a growing number of industrial companies, it’s high time we had more fire stations in the area. Currently, in the event of an accident, fire brigades have to be called in from Pune or Pimpri Chinchwad city, leading to delays due to the long distances involved.
But fret not, as the new fire stations will be strategically located in Daund, Purandar, Mulshi, Shirur, and Khed talukas, with double the coverage in Maval and triple in Haveli taluka. This move will not only improve response times but also ensure better safety for all residents in the region.
The reservation of 34 seats within the PMRDA limits for these fire stations is a promising development. An estimated ₹150 crores will be allocated towards this project, covering expenses for building the fire stations, accommodating staff, procuring vehicles, and acquiring essential equipment.
So, remember these locations, folks: Kedgaon in Daund, Shikrapur in Shirur, Kanhe in Maval, Dive in Purandar, Patan in Maval, Mahalunge in Mulshi, Yewalewadi in Khed, and Wadachi Wadi, Autade-Handewadi, and Manjari-Wadachiwadi in Haveli. Stay safe, Pune!
