PMRDA to Develop Multimodal Hubs Along 83 km Inner Ring Road in Pune with COEP’s Assistance

1. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the road between Nirangudi and Vadgaon Shinde in the first phase of the Ring Road has been completed. The College of Engineering Pune (COEP) is currently reviewing the DPR for the stretch between Solu and Nirangudi.
2. Despite multiple attempts to contact him, PMRDA Chief Engineer Ashok Bhalekar has remained silent on the current status of the project.
3. Land acquisition for the Ring Road is currently underway, with a total of 37.5 hectares of land being acquired at Solu, Nirangudi, and Vadgaon Shinde.
4. Construction work on the Ring Road is expected to commence after the Assembly election code of conduct is lifted.
5. The Inner Ring Road, a project being developed by PMRDA, will span 83 kilometers and is estimated to cost ₹14,200 crore.
6. In the first phase of construction, a 5-kilometer stretch from Solu to Vadgaon Shinde will be completed.
7. PMRDA has set aside ₹113 crore for land acquisition in the budget for this phase of the project.
