Key Pilgrimage Sites in Phase One: A Closer Look

3. Shri Mahaganpati Temple, Ranjangaon & Malai Devi Temple, Bhamburde (Shirur Taluka)
4. Baneshwar Mahadev Temple, Nasrapur (Bhor Taluka)
5. Shri Vitthal Temple, Dalimbe (Daund Taluka)
These temples will see a range of improvements, including the installation of solar energy systems, construction of shelters, sanitation facilities, and better roads. The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) believes that these enhancements will not only boost tourism but also improve connectivity to these sacred sites.
Tourism Development with ₹67 Crore Allocation
In addition to the improvements at the pilgrimage sites, a significant amount of funds – ₹67 crore to be exact – has been allocated for the development of tourist spots and a network of roads. Some of the locations that will benefit from this allocation in the first phase include:
1. Khadakwasla Dam
2. Palase Waterfall
3. Tihe Lake
4. Shri Satya Sai Pandurang Kshetra
5. Bhugaon to Tamhini Ghat Road
6. Tikona Fort & Pavana Dam
7. Tung Fort, Lohagad Fort, Rajmachi Fort
Furthermore, security measures and parking facilities will be prioritized at these locations to ensure the safety and convenience of visitors.
Dr. Yogesh Mhase, the PMRDA Commissioner, emphasized that this initiative is aimed at integrating modern infrastructure with the region’s rich cultural heritage. By enhancing connectivity between tourist and religious sites, the goal is to provide a seamless and enjoyable experience for all who visit these sacred places.
