According to Kumar, this shady move amounts to tampering with evidence and those responsible will be facing charges under Section 201 of the Indian Penal Code. Apparently, there were four people in the car when the accident occurred in the wee hours of the morning on a Sunday.
But wait, there’s more! The minor allegedly took his father’s unregistered Porsche for a joyride after hitting up a couple of pubs and knocking back some drinks. The speedometer was reportedly hitting over 160 km/h when tragedy struck and two IT engineers lost their lives near Landmark Garden Society on Kalyani Nagar – Airport Road.
As if that wasn’t enough, Commissioner Kumar also called out the Yerawada police station for bungling the investigation and failing to report the incident to higher-ups. The ACP for Hadapsar Division has been brought in to clean up the mess left by the negligent police staff.
