So, imagine you’re a fresh IAS officer, eager to make a difference and climb the bureaucratic ladder. But then, things take a turn when you get transferred for alleged misuse of authority and improper conduct. That’s the story of Dr. Pooja Khedkar, a trainee IAS officer from Pune District who has been moved to Washim District as the Assistant Collector.

Dr. Khedkar, who joined the service in 2023, was serving her probation in Pune when things started to go south. The District Collector, Dr. Suhas Diwase, wasn’t too pleased with her actions and decided to write to the government about it. It seems Dr. Khedkar was caught using a beacon light on a private car with the “Maharashtra Government” insignia, which didn’t sit well with the authorities. And if that wasn’t enough, she also allegedly took over the ante-chamber of a senior officer, crossing a line in terms of conduct.

But the drama doesn’t stop there – turns out Dr. Khedkar’s father, a retired government officer, was also in the spotlight for his inappropriate behavior in a WhatsApp chat. It seems like misconduct runs in the family, as her mother is the elected sarpanch of Bhalgaon in Pathardi taluka of Ahmednagar district. And to add to the mix, her father recently tried his luck in politics by contesting the Lok Sabha elections with the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi’s support.

Despite the allegations and controversies surrounding her, Dr. Pooja Khedkar has been tight-lipped about the whole situation. No responses to calls or messages, leaving everyone wondering what really went down during her time in Pune. Looks like this IAS officer’s journey is off to a rocky start – will she be able to turn things around in Washim District? Only time will tell.
