Shivajinagar residents were in for a surprise on Saturday night when a protest erupted on FC Road. The Sakal Hindu Samaj took to the streets to demand action against cloth stalls allegedly run by Bangladeshi immigrants. The protest, which took place near Wadeshwar restaurant, led to a case being registered against around 20 individuals by Police Constable Anuradha Mulik.
Reports suggest that these stalls, located between Wadeshwar and Roopali Restaurant, have been causing disturbances and getting into fights. The Bangladeshi owners have also been accused of misbehaving with local girls, sparking outrage among residents.
This is not the first time such an incident has occurred, as a previous protest had been staged regarding the same issue. The recent protest caused traffic congestion on FC Road, inconveniencing many people in the area. While the protesters were initially detained by the police, they were later released.
Police Sub-Inspector Shelke is now looking into the matter to determine the appropriate course of action. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
