Activist Prafful Sarda has once again made waves in Kondhwa, as he successfully pushed authorities to take action against violations at the BPCL petrol pump in Lullanagar. Sarda, a well-known figure in civic and consumer rights activism, has been relentless in his pursuit of accountability in the petroleum sector.
Thanks to his efforts, the BPCL petrol pump was slapped with a hefty ₹60,000 fine for failing to comply with prescribed norms. Sarda emphasized the importance of adhering to safety and operational guidelines set by petroleum companies, emphasizing the need for transparency and compliance.
In response to the fine, Sarda expressed satisfaction, stating, “It’s good to see that after continuous follow-ups, BPCL authorities have finally taken action against the petrol pump in question. Basic facilities at fuel stations are a consumer’s right, and it’s disappointing when they are not provided. I hope this incident serves as a wake-up call for all fuel stations.”
Sarda also called for weekly audits by petroleum companies to improve the customer experience and urged all fuel stations to prominently display information regarding consumer rights. His activism sheds light on consumer issues and ensures that businesses and authorities uphold regulations that protect the public interest.
