Pune Airport Hits Record 200 Flight Movements in a Day
Pune airport made headlines on Sunday as it achieved a new milestone, with a total of 200 flight movements in a single day. This included 100 arrivals and 100 departures, a first for the airport.
The increase in flight traffic can be attributed to the introduction of new routes, such as flights to Goa, Sindhudurg, and Jalgaon. These additions have contributed to the higher number of daily flight movements.
While the airport official mentioned that the 200 mark may not be consistent every day due to some flights not being part of daily schedules, they are optimistic about further growth. With the winter schedule approaching, the airport authorities are confident in the newly constructed terminal’s capacity to accommodate additional flights.
Efforts are also underway to encourage airlines to introduce new routes, with Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, actively involved in the process. The winter flight schedule is set to begin on October 27, and the airport expects to see more international connections in the near future.
