Big changes are coming to Pune Airport starting March 5, with all flights being shifted to the newly constructed terminal building. This move is aimed at improving passenger facilities and making operations more efficient. Airport Director Santosh Dhoke confirmed that the new terminal will handle 100% of flight operations from 2 AM on March 5.

The old terminal is also undergoing renovations, with plans to convert the arrival section into an additional departure area and develop a new security hold area. This process is expected to take around 6 to 8 months. The new terminal, which already handles over 90% of flights, is equipped with 10 aerobridges and can accommodate up to 9 million passengers annually.

In other news, the issue of stray dogs on the airport premises has been addressed by the Pune Municipal Corporation, following an incident where a stray dog was run over by a SpiceJet aircraft. The airport authorities are working with the PMC to resolve this issue.

Overall, the transition to the new terminal is a significant milestone for Pune Airport, with the goal of providing a modern and seamless travel experience for passengers. So, travelers are advised to stay updated with airline notifications and arrive early at the new terminal to avoid any last-minute hassles.
