If you’re a frequent flyer through Pune Airport, you’ll be pleased to hear about the upcoming changes to improve passenger convenience. In the latest news, three travelators are set to be installed connecting the new terminal building to the AeroMall within the next year. This exciting development comes from a senior airport official who shared that the chilling unit building in front of the departure gate of the existing terminal will need to be demolished to make way for the new travelators.

Currently, passengers have to trek about 400 meters from the arrival gates of the new terminal to the AeroMall entrance, or catch a bus to the old terminal’s departure gate to access the AeroMall’s parking for cab pickups. To address this inconvenience, two buses have been deployed to transport passengers to the AeroMall, along with battery-operated carts for about 200 passengers daily.

The new travelators are anticipated to streamline the journey from the new terminal to the AeroMall, eliminating the need for walking long distances. The estimated cost for this project falls between Rs 6 crore and Rs 7 crore, with an expected completion time of 7-8 months. With both renovation and installation processes happening simultaneously, passengers can look forward to a smoother travel experience at Pune Airport in the near future.
