With a capacity to handle nine million passengers annually, the NITB has become a crucial hub for regional and international travel. The terminal has also been recognized for its sustainability features, including natural lighting, rainwater harvesting, and optimized energy use.

In terms of technology, the NITB boasts an In-Line Baggage Screening System, Smart Visual Docking Guidance System, Passenger Boarding Bridges, and Automated External Defibrillators to enhance efficiency and passenger safety.

Passengers can enjoy a range of modern amenities at the NITB, including dining and shopping options, executive lounges, and mobile charging stations. The terminal also features enhanced security measures to ensure a smooth pre-embarkation process.

Celebrating Maharashtra’s heritage, the NITB incorporates elements like a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, national flag, murals, sculptures, and vibrant depictions of traditional sarees.

With new international flights to Singapore, Bangkok, and Dubai, Pune Airport has expanded its connectivity and set a record with 204 flight movements in a single day on December 8, 2024. The airport’s green initiatives, such as electric buses and energy-efficient design, highlight its commitment to sustainability.
