The Pune Airport’s old terminal is set to undergo a comprehensive renovation beginning in October, with completion expected by March 2025. The Airports Authority of India has detailed plans to modernize and expand the facility to better serve passengers.

Director Santosh Dhoke confirmed that operations will shift to the new terminal once all necessary approvals are in place. The renovation will see the old arrival hall transformed into an extended departure area, connected to the new terminal by a corridor to enhance passenger experience and flow.

The new Integrated Terminal Building, commissioned on July 14, 2024, has a peak hour capacity of 3,000 passengers and 34 check-in counters. Additional enhancements are planned, including more check-in counters and upgraded security checks.

While the renovation brings benefits such as an expanded departure area and increased capacity, travelers have raised concerns about transportation and pickup services at the airport. Suggestions include increasing the frequency of shuttle services and reevaluating Ola and Uber pickup facilities to better meet the needs of passengers.
