Have you ever left something behind at airport security, only to realize it once you’re already at the gate? Well, Pune Airport is here to save the day with their new initiative to reunite passengers with their lost belongings before they even take off.

The airport authorities have been proactive in locating and returning items like laptops, phone chargers, handbags, and even jewelry that passengers have forgotten during the security screening process. This program has seen great success, with numerous items being returned promptly.

Pune Airport Director Santosh Dhoke praised the efficiency of the new process, which involves the airport staff immediately reporting any unattended belongings to the CISF control room. By using CCTV footage and on-ground teams, they are able to identify the owner and ensure the item is returned quickly.

Dhoke emphasized the importance of preventing the inconvenience that passengers face when they realize their belongings are missing after leaving the airport. With around 10-12 instances of forgotten items each day, the new system aims to streamline the process and make it easier for passengers to retrieve their belongings.

In the past month alone, nearly 100 cases of misplaced items have been resolved before passengers boarded their flights. With this proactive approach, Pune Airport is making sure that passengers don’t have to worry about leaving anything behind when they travel.
