The situation escalated when the three accused individuals, along with an unidentified female passenger, allegedly verbally and physically attacked Mathew and his friend.
- The situation took a dangerous turn when the driver, Kamlesh, attempted to run over Mathew. In a desperate attempt to save himself, Mathew clung to the car’s bonnet as Kamlesh drove recklessly for over three kilometers, dragging Mathew along the road.
- Fortunately, the ordeal came to an end when the car stopped to drop off the female passenger. Police were able to apprehend the suspects shortly after the incident, with Kamlesh Patil, Hemant, and Prathamesh being taken into custody.
- The Nigdi Police Station has filed a case against the accused under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Blood samples have been taken from the suspects to determine if they were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
- Mathew sustained injuries during the altercation but is now on the road to recovery. Charges have been filed against the accused for assault, reckless endangerment, and potential alcohol-related offenses while driving. The investigation is ongoing as police await the results of the laboratory tests on the suspects’ blood samples.
