The recent increase in water levels in the Deccan area due to the release of water from the Khadakwasla dam has led to some safety measures being implemented. Electricity supply to around 100 consumers in Pulachi Wadi and Premnagar has been cut off to ensure power security, while in Ektangari on Sinhagad Road, 15 consumers had their electricity supply disconnected as floodwaters entered two societies.

To address the situation, Pune and PMRDA fire brigades have been deployed in vulnerable areas such as Ekta Nagri, Sarita Nagri, Deccan Riverside, Erandwane, Khilarewadi, Dattawadi, and Vishrantwadi. Equipped with rescue materials like torches, ropes, life jackets, life rings, megaphones, and boats, the fire brigades are on high alert and providing safety instructions to residents through megaphones.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and are prepared to take further action if needed to protect residents and property in the affected areas, according to Pune Municipal Commissioner Rajendra Bhosale. Stay tuned for updates on this developing situation.
