The closure of a local business has left 400 employees without jobs, adding to the growing issue of unemployment in the area. Despite pleas from residents for road repairs, the infrastructure remains neglected, causing further problems for existing industries.

This situation is not unique to Maharashtra, as many companies are leaving due to inadequate facilities and high operational costs. The state government’s efforts to attract new businesses are hindered by the challenges faced by current companies, including poor roads, high rental costs, water supply issues, waste management problems, and unreliable electricity supply.

In Pune’s Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, 37 IT companies have relocated in the past decade due to deteriorating infrastructure and traffic congestion. The Hindustan Industries Association (HIA) reports that businesses are moving to other parts of the state or outside Maharashtra to escape these ongoing challenges. The need for improved infrastructure and support for businesses is crucial to prevent further economic setbacks in the region.
