Pune, 24th July 2024: The city of Pune experienced a wide range of rainfall today, with some areas seeing moderate showers while others experienced heavy downpours. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported the following rainfall measurements from various locations in Pune from 08:30 IST to 20:30 IST:
– Shivajinagar: 7.7 mm
– Pashan: 6.5 mm
– Lohegaon: 13.6 mm
– Chinchwad: 33.5 mm
– Lavale: 104.0 mm
– Magarpatta: 3.0 mm
– NDA: 29.5 mm
– Koregaon Park: 6.5 mm

Looking ahead to tomorrow, the IMD has issued a forecast of continuous moderate to heavy rainfall with an overcast sky. Rainfall is expected to vary from 15.6 mm to 115.4 mm, with the potential for very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in isolated Ghat areas.

Anticipated impacts of the heavy rainfall tomorrow include reduced visibility, traffic disruptions, water logging in low-lying areas, falling debris from strong winds, and potential landslides in hilly regions.

Residents are advised to take precautions such as avoiding shelter under trees during thunderstorms, unplugging electronic devices during lightning, keeping windows and doors closed during strong winds, and avoiding travel during hazardous weather conditions.
