In a bizarre turn of events in Wanowrie, a Pune-based builder has found himself at the center of a police complaint. The 67-year-old builder has accused a certain Sachin Somnath Jambhulkar, 46, of spreading false information about a construction project and attempting to extort a whopping Rs 50 lakh from him. Talk about drama!

The whole saga allegedly took place between June and October 2024. The builder, who owns ancestral land in Wanowrie, is in the midst of a development project approved by the Pune Municipal Corporation. However, things took a nasty turn when Jambhulkar started spreading misinformation about the property, dissuading potential buyers from investing in the project. He even went as far as using flex banners to create confusion about land ownership, resulting in financial losses for the builder. Yikes!

But wait, there’s more. Jambhulkar apparently went the extra mile and forged an order from the Khadakwasla Executive Engineer of the Irrigation Department, claiming permission for afforestation on adjacent land. With this bogus document in hand, he tried to assert his rights over the property. And if that wasn’t enough, he had the audacity to demand a hefty sum of Rs 50 lakh from the builder, threatening to halt the construction if his demands were not met. Talk about nerve!

Thankfully, Senior Police Inspector Satyjit Adame is on the case and is currently investigating this alleged extortion and spread of false information in the real estate sector. Stay tuned for more updates on this juicy piece of news from Wanowrie!
