His wife, Vrushali Vinayak Naik, was also seriously injured in the attack.
The couple had been visiting their native village in Karwar taluka for a festival and were returning to Pune when the tragic incident occurred. The assailants, who arrived at their house early in the morning, launched a sudden and brutal attack on Vinayak, resulting in his untimely death. Vrushali was also injured while trying to defend her husband.
