Pune/Pimpri Chinchwad, 19th July 2024: The UK recently wrapped up its India Week celebrations with a special focus on recognizing the contributions of Indian culture and talent. One standout honoree was Prachi Dhabal Deb, a talented cake artist based in Pune, who was lauded for her exceptional work in Royal Icing Art.

Prachi received praise at Oxford University and was later honored at the House of Commons, UK Parliament by Navin Shah CBE. Making history as the first cake artist to be recognized at Oxford University, Prachi expressed her gratitude for the acknowledgment of her passion and dedication to her craft.

Having studied royal icing art in London and dedicating over a decade to promoting the art form, Prachi’s work has been recognized by Kevin McCole, Managing Director of the UK India Business Council. Her contributions to royal icing art have been significant and have helped expand the niche in new and innovative ways.

Originally from Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, and raised in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Prachi’s journey in cake artistry has been filled with impressive achievements, including three world records certified by the World Book of Records, London. These records include a 100 kg cake structure inspired by the Milan Cathedral, the most vegan royal icing structures, and a 200 kg edible structure of an Indian palace created with vegan royal icing.

Prachi’s commitment to a vegan lifestyle has also been a central focus of her work, pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved with vegan royal icing. Residing in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune, Prachi is not only a talented cake artist but also a true ambassador of creativity and innovation in the culinary arts. Her work continues to inspire and set new standards in the world of cake artistry.
