Pune City to Install 2,886 New CCTV Cameras in Collaboration with Google to Enhance City Security

   • In Phase II of the project, 2,886 new cameras will be installed across the city.

2. Traffic Solutions in Pune
   • To address traffic issues in Pune, the state government has decided to create a new ‘Additional CP’ post for traffic management.
   • An extra ‘DCP’ post will also be established for more efficient policing.
3. New Police Stations and Commissionerate Buildings
   • The foundation stone was laid for the new Bund Garden Police Station.
   • Online inaugurations were held for the Assistant Commissioner of Police offices under the Mira-Bhayander-Vasai-Virar Police Commissionerate, as well as the Tulinj and Bolinj police stations.
   • The foundation stone was laid for the new Pune City Police Commissionerate building.
   • A 50-acre site has been secured for the new Pimpri Chinchwad Commissionerate building, with an official government decision to be announced tomorrow.
4. Strengthening Law Enforcement
   • Work is underway to establish a state-of-the-art forensic lab to aid in evidence management.
   • The Home Minister expressed satisfaction with the record recruitment of 40,000 police personnel during his tenure.
   • The state has adopted a ‘No Tolerance Policy’ against crimes involving women, children, and drugs.
5. Dignitaries Attend Event
   • The event was attended by senior dignitaries including the Director General of Maharashtra Police, Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol, MP Medha Kulkarni, MLA Ram Shinde, MLA Bhimrao Tapkir, and other notable officials.
