1. A massive project spanning over 17,433.10 square meters and comprising five buildings with 249 flats has come under scrutiny for allegedly commencing without the necessary Environmental Clearance (EC) and consent to establish from the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB).
  2. The National Green Tribunal’s (NGT) western bench, consisting of Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh and expert member Vijay Kulkarni, has upheld the calculation of 6,083 days of violations in the project and affirmed the correctness of the compensation and penalty amounts imposed.
  3. BramhaCorp Limited, the company behind the project, has accepted the NGT’s ruling and has stated its commitment to addressing the raised concerns. The company maintains that the issue of Environmental Clearance was not applicable to the project and intends to appeal against the fines imposed.
  4. In a statement, a spokesperson for BramhaCorp Limited stated, "We acknowledge the recent ruling and are fully committed to addressing all concerns raised. The project in question was completed almost 20 years ago, and the issue of Environmental Clearance applicability has been contested. We have obtained the necessary EC, and the fines imposed are under appeal. We trust in the judicial process and will provide updates on the matter as it progresses."
