Hey there, Pune peeps! Big news coming your way today. Sachin Ashok Kharade has been slapped with a hefty 16-year prison sentence for a despicable crime. Back in December 2017, this 26-year-old guy broke into a minor girl’s house in Urali Kanchan, Pune, and committed a heinous act that shook the community.

The Pune District and Sessions Court didn’t hold back on the punishment either. Kharade was found guilty of various offenses under the Indian Penal Code and the POCSO Act. He’s looking at one year in the slammer and a fine of Rs 5,000 for assaulting the girl, five years behind bars and a Rs 10,000 fine for trespassing the house, and a whopping ten years plus another Rs 10,000 fine for the gravest charge of aggravated penetrative sexual assault.

Props to Assistant Police Inspector Shrikant Ingawale for cracking the case wide open and to public prosecutor Nitin Konghe and Police Constable Lalita Kanwade for fighting for justice in court. Their hard work didn’t go unnoticed, with Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Dr. Rajkumar Shinde rewarding them with a sweet cash prize of Rs 10,000 each.

It’s a victory for law enforcement and a step towards making Pune a safer place for everyone. Let’s keep the momentum going and stand up against such atrocities together. That’s all for now, folks! Stay safe and stay informed.
