So, imagine this – a young man, Vinod alias Vinayak Suresh Chavan, thought he could get away with luring a minor girl into marriage. But justice prevailed as Additional Sessions Judge S.R. Narawade sentenced him to six months of rigorous imprisonment and a hefty fine of ₹15,000. And if he doesn’t pay up, he’ll have to spend an additional three months behind bars, with ₹10,000 from the fine going to the girl he kidnapped.

It all started back in 2011, when the minor girl went missing after supposedly attending a school program that never existed. Her worried parents searched for her, only to receive a call from her saying she was in Nashik and would be back in four days. But as her phone went off, they filed a missing person report, leading the police to Chavan.

Turns out, Chavan had been keeping the girl under false promises of marriage, which landed him in hot water. With four witnesses testifying against him, Public Prosecutor Sanjay Pawar made sure justice was served. And now, Chavan will have plenty of time to think about his actions behind bars.
