Alright folks, it’s that time of year again when we all indulge in our favorite sweets and festive treats during Dussehra and Diwali. But beware, some vendors in Pune have been caught selling adulterated products! Yikes!
To combat this issue, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Pune went on a mission to clean up the city. They seized tainted goods worth a whopping ₹24 lakh and even shut down one vendor. Talk about taking action!
This operation is all part of the FDA’s ongoing campaign to make sure we’re all enjoying safe, unadulterated food. They inspected a total of 131 food establishments in Pune district and division, collecting samples of various products like milk, khoya, paneer, and more for analysis.
After testing, officials seized goods worth ₹14.88 lakh in Pune district and ₹9.19 lakh in Pune division suspected of being adulterated. That’s a lot of shady food being taken off the shelves!
Suresh Annapure, Joint Commissioner of the FDA, is urging the public to be vigilant and report any suspicious cases of adulteration. You can call the toll-free number 1800-222-365 to report any dodgy vendors.
So, let’s all do our part to keep our festive season safe and delicious. And remember, always be on the lookout for those sneaky adulterators!
